LATE ON THIS ALL HOWEVER: a) this is the best of the best of the photos I took Monday night (the rest are blurrier and/or don’t feature Barry Melrose) b) I wrote about said night and c) very highly recommend this.

First impressions of Wrecking Ball:
“Land Of Hope And Dreams” is amazing. I’m pretty sure Clarence (or another big black man) sings the opening line, and the sax parts are amazing, and it’s an interesting studio translation of what we’ve only heard live.
I love the folky feel to it, and the emotion.
The comparison I’ve come up with is that it’s most similar to The Rising, but still unique and original, which is impressive for someone’s 17th studio release.
Favorite songs so far: “Wrecking Ball,” “Rocky Ground” (which includes a rap verse much to my amusement), “Land Of Hope And Dreams,” and “We Are Alive.”
I know none of you give a damn, but this is a great album with loaded political/social commentary. Basically, it’s classic Bruce and definitely worth a listen. This man is still capable of speaking to a disillusioned American population, while at the same time inspiring them and lifting them up.
